Reframing Family: Feminist Perspectives Through the Lens

I was commissioned as curator and mentor for Reframing Family: Feminist Perspectives Through the Lens, an international photography project involving four Goethe-Instituts, with residencies across Bulgaria, Hungary and India. Over eight months, I mentored nine women artists exploring women’s experiences of family across cultures, and curated the resulting exhibition in Sofia.

Images from the Past and Future: Stories of a Building

As artistic director and curator of Images from the Past and Future: Stories of a Building in Sinemorets, I worked with the local community to explore the building’s history and imagine its possible futures. Through photography, rubbings, archival materials and AI-generated imagery, we brought memories, material traces and imagined futures into dialogue, culminating in a public exhibition.

Who Are These Women?

Who Are These Women? emerged from my PhD research with young women, exploring how photography and social media shape identity and self-understanding. The exhibition brought photographs, conversations and reflections into a shared space, extending the participatory research process. Curating these materials offered a way to explore how meanings shift as images are selected, placed alongside one another and encountered by an audience.

Interconnection

Interconnection is a curatorial project by Kallina Brailsford, presenting its eighth annual group exhibition of work by BA and MA Photography students at New Bulgarian University.

Held at the Red House Centre for Culture and Debate, the exhibition brings together contemporary photographic series developed over an academic year. Through interactive displays and installations, the works explore social, personal and creative interactions and the traces they leave behind.
